Paris the City of Love

I remember the famous lines quoted by my favorite author Robert Frost :
“These woods are lovely, dark and deep. But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep. “ Yes, we all look forward to traveling to exotic destinations and places, as life is too short and every moment counts.

Paris is one of my favorite cities I like to visit. What I particularly love about the city is its lavish beautiful architecture which is a part and parcel of the city’s rich cultural heritage, art, museums, the cafe culture, fashion, and gastronomy which makes it a very popular tourist destination.

My love for fashion and jewelry often takes me to this charming and romantic city which remains a premier destination for shopping and is the original home of haute couture and a trendsetter of fashion in Europe.

Le Bristol Hotel Paris the ultimate luxury experience.

Now let’s talk about the hotels in Paris. My all-time favorite hotel is the Hotel Le Bristol which is a part of the Oetker Collection, Masterpiece Hotels owned by one of Europe’s richest families the Oetkers. The historic architecture of the hotel, along with its luxurious interiors, the room furnishings and highest quality of service promise its guests an ultimate luxury experience.

The food and beverage sector is another asset to this opulent and lavish hotel. My personal favorite corner in the hotel is the Le Jardin Francois which is on the lobby level and opens to a scenic area of plush green gardens and landscaping with beautiful mirrors installed around. The guests can feast on the sumptuous delicacies, drinks, cakes and appetizers amidst the beautiful calm surroundings of this garden.

Not to forget the three Star Michelin fine dining restaurant the Epicure. An ultimate in fine dining experience. I am besotted by the variety of its bread, my favorite is the raisin and chestnut roll. My favorite course is the steamed white seabass served on a bed of steamed spinach and green pesto sauce. The desserts of Epicure are simply amazing. I particularly like the raspberry delight served on a nest of brown caramelized sugar. And the gorgeous citrus lemon dessert which is a beautifully shaped lemon , frosted with limoncello, accompanied with pear and preserved lemon.

People who enjoy their drinks will love the trendy and hip bar Le Bar du Bristol which has amazing decors and a Gorgeous Preserved Peacock at its entrance which looks so real with its beautiful plume. One can see the walls and ceilings in the hotel lobby and restaurants adorned with classic french mural paintings. The splendid room decors comprising of rich upholstery in pastel color palettes and floral motifs impart a royal luxurious look to the hotel. Another reason to stay at this palace hotel is its proximity to the most happening shopping fashion street Rue du Faubourg Saint -Honore. The shopaholics can walk down to do this posh shopping street in minutes and save time commuting.

I usually like to stay in Le Bristol hotel which is so close and a ten minutes walk to this shopping street. I love to wear my Fitbit to keep a count of my steps, and my iPods playing Bollywood music head out on a shopping spree. I am very fond of perfumes so I start with one of my favorite brand Caron Paris. What I really love about this brand is the packaging of the perfumes. The gorgeous glass bottles with embellishments and detailing are breathtakingly beautiful and a luxury to own. I remember buying a beautiful Swarovski studded gold encased hand mirror from this posh boutique and some limited edition perfume bottles studded with white pearls. Which I proudly display like jewels on my vanity table and are like a souvenir of Paris.

Another brand which I fancy on the Rue du Faubourg Saint -Honore street is the brand Frette, it is a luxury brand for bedding and table linens. The bedding collection comprises of fabrics of highest quality thread count and alluring designs which are indeed a luxury to own for a good nights sleep.

The woollen knitwear comes studded with fancy crystals in amazing color palettes ranging from powder blues, greys, coral pinks and lemon yellow. Their accessories are also very chic and trendy.

Now let’s talk about another favorite passion of mine – Jewelry, so the next place I am going to talk about is Place Vendôme.I have always been fascinated by its magnificent architecture and layout. The square has a such a vibrant vibe and is home to all the high-end fashion, luxury jewelry brands be it Boucheron, Dior, Mikimoto, Vancleef , Chanel or Breguet e.t.c. And the most romantic classic charming hotel, The Ritz Paris. I have always been bawled by its opulence, lavish, spectacular interiors and decors and its impeccable service. I am really fond of their high tea in their breathtakingly beautiful salons and a sumptuous spread of sandwiches , scones and cakes. The best stopover for the people shopping at Vendôme.

At Peninsula Hotel Paris, in love with the Bespoke Crystal Chandeliers.

And last but not the least I would like to mention the hotel Peninsula. If you are looking for an authentic and delicious Cantonese Chinese cuisine, Michelin Star Lili at Peninsula is the restaurant to visit. At the entrance, you are greeted by the alluring Mural painting of a Chinese girl amidst the sparkling beaded crystal strands of the chandelier. A perfect spot to click pictures for the Instagram Addicts like me. You can order from an amazing menu ranging from dim sums to seasonal vegetables, fish, noodles and fried rice. My favorite dish is the spicy stir-fried okra at this restaurant along with vegetable fried rice. The open air adjacent terrace of the restaurant under the glass canopy is generally open during the summer months and is a very romantic place to dine. For the fashion lovers, another high-end designer boutique to check out at the hotel is Fabio _ Caviglia one of my husband’s all time favorite brand.
