Healthy Chocolate Banana Bites
I always like to make desserts which have healthy ingredients and benefit the body apart from satisfying our cravings and giving us pleasure. So they have to be Delicious and Healthy at the same time .
Pitted Dates — 1 cup
Banana — 1 cup
Walnuts — 1 cup
Cocoa Powder — 2 tbsp
Cinnamon powder- 1/2 tsp
A Pinch of Salt .
Vanilla Extract – 1/2 tbsp.
Grind All the Above ingredients in a Blender to a smooth paste . Transfer this paste in a glass bowl . Add 1/2 cup of unsweetened desiccated Coconut to this smooth paste and mix well together. Apply oil to your hands . Take small portions of this mixture with a spoon and make small chocolate balls . Take chopped nuts 1/3 cup of your choice . (I usually prefer sliced almonds and pistachios as they look beautiful on the chocolate balls ) on a plate and roll these chocolate balls one by one in these chopped nuts so that they get coated .
Store these chocolate balls in an airtight glass container and refrigerate them .They can stay fresh till two weeks .
These chocolate energy bites can be enjoyed with coffee, as a dessert and make an excellent snack before workout . As the banana , dates and walnuts provide ample energy in form of good carbohydrates and good fats needed for the workout. Cinnamon reduces fat and cuts the sugar in the body . Dates are a natural sweetener and a great substitute compared to any refined sugar . Nuts like almonds , walnuts and pistachios are a good source of healthy fats .
